Two men were shot and rushed to a local hospital at Louisiana and Federal Boulevard in Denver Tuesday night, police said. One suspect in the shooting is in custody while another is on the run, according to the Denver Police Department. No information about the second suspect is available at this time.
A kitchen fire at a nursing home in Thornton overnight sent two employees to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. Firefighters were called to the Elms Haven Center, 12080 Bellaire Way, at about 2:20 a.m. Arriving crews were able to contain the fire to the kitchen area.
A woman was rushed to the hospital after she was found with a gunshot wound in a Colorado Springs apartment complex parking lot early Sunday morning. The incident was reported at a complex on Iowa Avenue, just blocks from the Olympic Training Center.
A 12-year-old boy believed to be a runaway was found safe on Monday morning, the Aurora Police Department said. Just before 8 p.m. Sunday, police said Vasilios Stylianous was missing. They believe ran away from home in the 1100 block of South Uvalda Street about 5 p.m.

The Denver Police Department says they’re investigating the death of a woman as a homicide. 49-year-old Jeanna Leslie's body was found in a home in the 1500 block of Stout Street, according to DPD. Officers came to the home Wednesday morning on a requested welfare check. The coroner's office says Leslie died from multiple sharp force injuries.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near the hotel zone by Denver International Airport on Thursday morning, the Denver Police Department said. The accident happened just after 6 a.m. at Tower Road near East 69th Avenue. Police said a man attempted to cross Tower Road in the middle of the block.

A woman was killed after the vehicle she was driving was hit by a train on Tuesday night, the Eaton Police Department said. The collision happened just before 6 p.m. at Fifth Street and Highway 85. The woman was the only person inside the SUV when it was hit by the train. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police shot and killed a person Tuesday evening in southwest Denver after responding to a burglary call. Officers responded to a burglary-in-progress call just before 6 p.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of S. Alcott, which is near the street’s intersection with W. Colorado Ave.

Colorado State Patrol is investigating a fatal single-car crash that happened Monday on Huerfano County Road 103, about nine miles north of Walsenburg. Troopers say 90-year-old George Whiting of Mesa, Arizona, was driving his Honda Civic eastbound on the road when the car began to rotate then left the side of the road and collided its front end with the ground. After impact, the car continued east and rolled, coming to a stop in an open field.
A dangerous and growing trend has first responders and neighbors concerned. Fire crews were called to a homeless camp fire near Wahsatch and Fountain Blvd. in Colorado Springs Sunday. It's the second one within the past two days.
