The co-owner of a dinosaur-themed park in southern Colorado thinks an electrical malfunction caused a life-size animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex to burst into flames. Zach Reynolds says the T-Rex at the Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience smoldered for about 10 minutes before it caught fire Thursday morning. Visitors watched as the inferno spread through the dinosaur, which appeared at times to be breathing flames.

A man was found dead on a hiking trail near the Boulder Flatirons on Thursday. The man was found unconscious along a social hiking trail that branched off the Mesa Trail, about one mile above the Bluebell Shelter near Chautauqua Park around 11:30 a.m.
One person was shot and injured in a Broomfield neighborhood late Thursday night. It happened in the 13100 block of Grove Street. The victim was taken to Denver Health Medical Center in unknown condition.

Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a person found Wednesday night as a homicide. No information was available about a possible suspect, according to an 8:30 p.m. tweet from Denver police.
Shooting reported at 104th and Federal in Federal Heights
An older woman was attacked Tuesday afternoon on a walking path just east of Highland Park Drive and Sheridan Blvd. in Broomfield, police said. Broomfield Police got a call from someone who witnessed the attack at 3:30 p.m., who also provided a description of the attack. The suspect assaulted the woman in the 12400 block of Sheridan Blvd. and was taken into custody a short while later in the 900 block of E. Midway, according to law enforcement.
A rollover crash in south Denver sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries on Tuesday. Denver police say the crash happened at Santa Fe Drive and Mississippi Avenue at about noon. Eastbound Mississippi Avenue is closed at Sante Fe Drive as officers investigate.

The name of a 17-year-old who was shot and killed in West Colfax over the weekend was released on Tuesday. According to the Denver Police Department, a person later identified as Ty Martinez was shot in the 3500 block of W. Colfax Ave around 7 p.m. on March 17.
A Douglas County judge denied bond for a Highlands Ranch woman who is accused of tossing her newborn onto a neighbor’s deck where it was found dead in January. Camille Wasinger-Konrad, 23, allegedly gave birth on Jan. 2, 2018 and then tossed her newborn onto a neighbor’s back deck where it was found dead about 14 hours later.
One person was killed while working on rockfall mitigation in Clear Creek Canyon on Tuesday afternoon, the Colorado Department of Transpiration said. Jamie Sarinana-Herrera was a contractor with Apex Rockfall who was working on the project when the incident happened around 1 p.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said.

A suspect in 19 bank robberies in San Diego was reportedly hiding in Boulder before hitting a Bank of the West in Northglenn on Friday. At roughly 9:45 a.m., Daniel David Courson, 45, approached a teller at the bank at 10393 Huron St., demanded money, fled on a bicycle and then in the vehicle with Utah license plates.
